Connect people with disability to sport and recreation opportunities in regional communities.

Before he found Sporting Wheelies, Mark Stephenson's world had become very small.

After a diagnosis of Young Onset Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsonism, Mark lost his career as a fire fighter, independence and the freedom of riding his motorbike. He has faced daily physical and cognitive challenges, battled isolation, and struggled with the loss of community that once defined his life.

Then Mark found Sporting Wheelies.

From the first moment he wheeled through our doors, he felt welcomed, included, and valued. Today, Mark is thriving as a member of our wheelchair cricket, and basketball programs. In his words, "Wheeling across the court feels like I'm back on my motorbike — it's freedom, pure and simple."

Now, we need your help to change even more lives.

With your support, we are launching the Disability Sports and Recreation Officer (DSRO) Program to expand our services into regional Queensland. DSROs will deliver inclusive sport programs, mentor local clubs, and connect people with disability to recreation opportunities in their own communities. Without programs like this, many regional Queenslanders with disability remain isolated, inactive, and cut off from the joy of movement.
